WHAT IMPACT HAS PRIME/CROSSFIT HAD ON YOUR LIFE BOTH IN AND OUT OF THE GYM?

I started at Prime in August at a time when I was super stressed out both personally and professionally. I was in a rut with my fitness routine and my results were at a standstill.  I realized that I needed to make a drastic change.  Prime has helped me in so many ways.  It is refreshing to be surrounded by positive, supportive people everyday.  I sleep better, eat healthier, have more energy, have less neck pain and feel stronger than I ever have.  And while results can be slow, I see myself progressing and trying things I never thought I would.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT PRIME OR CROSSFIT IN GENERAL?

The best thing about Prime’s CrossFit Program is the variety.  Each and every workout challenges me and keeps me motivated.  I also appreciate the support of the coaches and the other members at Prime. It is a great environment and so much more than just a gym!

LAST MEAL. 3-2-1 GO!

Hmmm. Sushi. Filet. Great bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Carrot cake. Coffee ice cream.

WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE THE ABILITY TO BE INVISIBLE FOR A DAY OR READ MINDS FOR A DAY? WHY?

If I could have any superpower, I would want to fly.  However, if I had to pick between the two, I'd rather be invisible.  It would be too scary to read minds.  I don't think I'd want to know what some people have going on upstairs!!

WHAT DOES A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JULIE LOOK LIKE OUTSIDE OF BEING A STUD ATHLETE?

My name certainly can't be used in the same sentence as stud ATHLETE!  I work for Mohawk Valley Health Systems as a Family Practice Physician Assistant and I am proud to say that I have been at the same job with the same patients for almost 20 years.  It keeps me very busy and there is never a dull moment!  Outside of work and the gym, I like to run, kayak and spend time with my family.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD/SHARE?

For those who don't know, I am borderline obsessed with all SU sports but especially soccer and basketball.   There's nothing better than watching the games live and I go to great lengths to catch as many as I can.

Also…I'm super shy.  I keep a lucky can of tuna in my glovebox and its been there for at least 20 years ... I'd like to thank Connie Mandia and Nick Aunkst for talking me into joining Prime, I'm so thankful I did!  And there are so many other people who should be featured instead of me....I am truly in awe of the amazing athletes I get the privilege of working out next to everyday!
